Dutch Central Bank Shifts Billions in Gold Amid Global Unrest
The Dutch central bank has recently made significant moves in its gold reserves, transferring 27 tonnes of gold from the US and Canada back to the Netherlands. This comes after the bank sold 59 tonnes of gold in New York to purchase more in London.
The bank attributed this action to strengthening 'crisis preparedness' due to 'increasing geopolitical unrest.'
Shaokai Fan, Global Head of Central Banks at the World Gold Council, was not quoted directly on the matter, but the bank's actions are seen as a response to global economic and political uncertainty.
