EBA Calls for Temporary Suspension of Soybean and Rapeseed Export Duties in Ukraine

The European Business Association (EBA) has urged Ukraine's parliament to temporarily suspend export duties on soybeans and rapeseed. The association emphasizes that this move would help farmers survive financially, preserve agricultural competitiveness, and boost foreign exchange earnings.

According to the EBA, Ukrainian farmers are already facing significant losses due to the ongoing war, destruction of sales channels, rising costs of fuel, fertilizers, and logistics. Oilseeds, in particular, have become a crucial source of support for crop production, as grain crops often become unprofitable under current conditions.

The business community believes that the temporary abolition of export duties would allow farmers to receive higher prices for their products, preserving Ukraine's agricultural sector competitiveness. Unhindered and competitive exports of agricultural products will also help preserve foreign exchange earnings, support the economy, and strengthen Ukraine's position in global markets.
