ECOnnect Energy Deploys Floating LNG Terminal in The Bahamas

ECOnnect Energy, a Norway-based technology company, has secured a deal to deploy its IQuay C-Class floating LNG infrastructure at an LNG terminal in The Bahamas. The project is a joint venture between Shell Bahamas Power Company and Sun Oil, a subsidiary of FOCOL Holdings.

The agreement enables the import of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from carriers directly to onshore storage via flexible pipelines, eliminating the need for a fixed jetty. This solution reduces environmental impact and accelerates LNG-to-power deployment on New Providence Island, which currently relies heavily on imported fuel oil and diesel.

Morten Christophersen, CEO of ECOnnect Energy, stated: 'This is about enabling access to better energy solutions where they are needed most. With this project, we are providing the marine infrastructure to enable delivery of lower-carbon fuel.'
