Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation Teams Up with YMCA for Summer Camps

The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation and YMCA of Northern Alberta are teaming up to provide an unforgettable experience for nearly 1500 children and youth this August. For the second year in a row, these organizations will offer a day camp experience at the Fan Park @ ICE District downtown.

This summer, over eight separate days throughout the month of August, up to 200 kids will gather at the Fan Park outside of Rogers Place to learn hockey skills, play shinny ball hockey and other games. They'll also get to meet Hunter the Lynx and some Edmonton Oilers alumni, and take behind-the-scenes tours of Rogers Place.

The EOCF's Executive Director, Myrna Khan, says they're 'excited to once again partner with the YMCA' and provide these camps, which support physical health, mental well-being, leadership development and meaningful connections. They aim to ensure every kid has the opportunity to try new activities without being turned away due to financial barriers.

The YMCA of Northern Alberta's President & CEO, Katherine O'Neill, says they're 'very grateful' for the EOCF's support and are excited to bring kids from all over the city to the downtown core.
