Edouard Fizzles as LNG Terminals Resist

Natural gas futures initially fell on Tuesday as Tropical Storm Edouard approached the Texas-Louisiana liquefied natural gas (LNG) corridor. However, the contracts managed to recover most of their losses by the end of the day.

The storm's impact on LNG terminals was minimal, with feedgas nominations remaining unchanged at Sabine Pass. The terminal lifted its nominations despite the approaching storm, which helped stabilize natural gas prices.

At one point, natural gas futures plummeted to a low of $2.851, but they rebounded by the end of the day. Power burn also remained above 51 Bcf/d, further supporting natural gas prices.
