Edouard's Landfall Sends Natural Gas Prices Tumbling

Natural gas prices in the Gulf Coast region gave back about two-thirds of their Monday gains to fall below $7 per million BTU on Tuesday, as Tropical Storm Edouard made landfall near the Texas-Louisiana border.

The storm's approach had caused prices to surge past $7 on Monday, but by Wednesday, they were down to around $5.30 at hubs in the Southeast and $6.50 at Henry Hub in Louisiana.

Houston Ship Channel prices did see a slight gain, up near landfall, but overall the region's natural gas market seemed relatively calm in response to the storm.
