Egypt Exports Record 160,000 Tons of Food Products in One Week

The National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) of Egypt reported that the country exported 160,000 tons of food products between August 1 and 7. The total number of export consignments reached 3,900, coming from 1,333 exporting companies and covering around 683 types of food products.

The exports included vegetables and tubers, fruits, preserved vegetable and fruit preparations, flour and grain products, and other types of food products. Egypt exported 44 types of vegetables, with potatoes topping the list at 17,000 tons, followed by onions at 11,000 tons and various types of beans at 5,000 tons.

The country also exported 33 types of fruit, totaling 31,000 tons, with strawberries leading at 11,000 tons, followed by citrus fruits and mangoes at 6,000 tons each. Sudan was the largest importer of Egyptian food products last week, followed by the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, the US, and Jordan.
