Egypt LNG Terminal Hit by Suspected Drone Strike
An explosion occurred at Egypt's Damietta LNG terminal on Wednesday evening, prompting an investigation into a suspected drone strike.
The incident involved a U.S.-owned floating gas storage tanker called Energos Winter, which was at the port during cargo discharge operations when the fire broke out.
Ambrey, a maritime security firm, said its initial assessment found that a drone struck the Energos Winter, causing the fire to spread to another vessel, Gaslog Salem.
The crew of the Energos Winter was safely evacuated, and local authorities reported that the situation had been brought under control with no injuries or fatalities.
