Egypt Secures Damaged Pipeline in Ismailia After Dredging Incident
Egypt's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources confirmed Saturday that Town Gas has secured a damaged natural gas pipeline under the Ismailia Canal in the Future Bridge area. The ministry said that supplies to residential customers remain unaffected.
The ministry stated that Town Gas responded immediately after the pipeline feeding the village of Nefisha in Ismailia was damaged beneath Future Bridge during dredging and excavation work carried out under the Ismailia Canal without prior coordination with the company.
Town Gas's monitoring and control systems detected a significant decline in gas pressure, prompting emergency teams and technical specialists to be dispatched to the site. The company isolated the regulator, secured the pipeline and surrounding area, and implemented the necessary technical measures to bring the situation under control and ensure public safety.
