Egypt Secures Power Plant Fuel Supplies Ahead of Summer Peak
Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi confirmed that natural gas and fuel supplies to power plants are fully secured ahead of August. The minister made this statement during a visit to the National Control Center for the national natural gas network at GASCO.
Badawi reviewed the operational status of the network and was briefed on plans to secure the local market's needs throughout August. He instructed officials to continue monitoring the situation, increase readiness levels, and respond quickly to any changes to ensure stability in the supply system.
The minister attributed the current stability of energy supplies to early preparations and proactive plans developed ahead of the summer season, as well as close coordination between the ministries of petroleum and electricity. He noted that previously prepared emergency plans have proven effective in responding to developments and ensuring continued supply of gas and fuels to the country.
