Egypt Speeds Up Development of Harmattan Gas Field
Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi has ordered an acceleration of work to connect the offshore Harmattan gas field to production facilities. The move aims to bring new gas resources online and strengthen domestic supplies.
The directive was issued during a visit by Badawi to the Pharaonic Petroleum Company's production site in Port Said, where he reviewed drilling, exploration, and field-development programs across the company's Mediterranean operations.
Hossam Zaki, chairman of Pharaonic Petroleum Company, said that the Harmattan development project targets production of approximately 200 million cubic feet of natural gas per day, alongside around 4,400 barrels of condensates per day.
