Egypt Surpasses Europe as Top Destination for US LNG Shipments

The US Department of Energy's LNG monthly report has revealed that Egypt was the top destination for US liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments in June. FSRU-based LNG import terminals in Egypt were favored by US exporters, surpassing other destinations in Europe and Asia.

This marks a shift in trade patterns, as Asia became the preferred destination for US cargoes over Europe for the first time since September 2024. The Hoegh Galleon, an FSRU vessel operated by Höegh Evi, was seen docked at Egypt's Ain Sokhna terminal.
