Egyptian Petroleum Corporation Seeks Increased Oil and Gas Output Amid Rising Demand
The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) has called on producers to increase oil and gas output across Egypt's fields. CEO Salah Abdel Kerim emphasized that production growth must be accompanied by strong occupational health, safety, and environmental standards.
During the FY 2025/26 performance reviews of South Dabaa Petroleum Company (DAPETCO), PetroNefertiti, PetroKarim, and Rahmi, EGPC urged partner companies to ensure timely availability of drilling equipment to execute their planned drilling programs without disruptions.
DAPETCO Chairman Sayed Beshendi reported that the company produced approximately 3,230 barrels per day of oil and condensates and 23 million cubic feet per day (mmcf/d) of natural gas during FY 2025/26. The company drilled four wells during the period, comprising two exploration wells and two development wells.
EGPC also encouraged DAPETCO to deploy artificial intelligence technologies to improve exploration accuracy and support more effective identification of hydrocarbon resources. Additionally, PetroZenima reviewed plans to increase production and accelerate reserve development.
