Egypt's EGPC Seeks Oil and Gas Production Boost Amid Growing Demand
The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) has called on its subsidiaries to increase oil and gas production in Egypt. CEO Salah Abdel Kerim emphasized the need for balance between growth and environmental protection during a review of FY 2025/26 results at South Dabaa Petroleum Company's general assembly.
DAPETCO, which drilled four wells including two exploration and two development wells, reported production of 3,230 barrels of oil and condensates and 23 million cubic feet of gas per day. Abdel Kerim also urged HBS to provide the necessary equipment for drilling without interrupting rig operations.
The reviews followed another round of FY 2025/26 general assemblies on August 24, when PetroAmir reported average production of 973 bbl/d and Abdel Kerim stressed the need to raise output. This comes as Egypt looks to boost its energy production amid growing demand for natural gas.
