Egypt's Karim Badawi Reaffirms Proactive Plans for Natural Gas Market Needs
Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi has reaffirmed the country's proactive plans to secure natural gas market needs. He emphasized the importance of efficiently managing shifts in consumption and maintaining maximum readiness for emergencies or developments.
The minister reviewed the operational status of the national natural gas grid from the Egyptian Natural Gas Company (GASCO) control center, verifying uninterrupted gas supplies to power generation plants to ensure grid stability amidst soaring temperatures. He also monitored deliveries to the industrial sector, guaranteeing that factories operate at full capacity and meeting domestic market requirements and export commitments.
Badawi attributed the successful management of local demand throughout the first half of the summer to decisive state measures, which included procuring regasification vessels and natural gas shipments, boosting domestic production, and implementing forward-looking supply strategies.
