EIA Boosts 2027 US Oil Output Forecast to Record 14.3 Million Bpd
The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) has revised its forecast for domestic crude oil production in 2027, increasing it to 14.3 million barrels per day.
This is up from its previous estimate of 14.2 million bpd and marks a significant jump from the 13.8 million bpd forecasted for 2026.
The Permian region and the U.S. portion of the Gulf of Mexico are expected to drive much of this growth, with Permian output averaging 6.8 million bpd in 2026, up 3% from 2025.
The EIA also projects a rise in Brent crude prices, expecting it to average $91 per barrel in 2026 and $74 in 2027.
