EIA Bumps Up Oil Price Forecasts for 2026
The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) has raised its oil price forecasts in its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO) report.
EIA now expects the average West Texas Intermediate (WTI) price to be $84.65 per barrel in 2026, up from a previous forecast of $80.88. For Brent crude, the agency anticipates an average price of $91.01 per barrel in 2026, compared to its earlier projection of $86.81.
In 2027, EIA forecasts WTI prices at $69.74 per barrel and Brent prices at $73.74 per barrel, both higher than the previous estimates.
