EIA Outlook: Appalachia Flat as Permian, Haynesville Boom
The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) has released its September Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO), revealing that natural gas production in Appalachia remains flat while other regions experience growth.
The forecast for Henry Hub prices is $3.43/MMBtu for 2026 and $3.28/MMBtu for 2027, a slight decrease from last month's projections.
However, the EIA's regional production tables show significant increases in the Permian and Haynesville regions, while Appalachia's growth is stagnant.
