Enbridge Acquires Tallgrass' Crude Transportation Business for $2.55 Billion
Enbridge Inc., a major North American energy transportation company, has announced plans to acquire Tallgrass Energy's crude oil transportation business for $2.55 billion in cash.
The acquisition includes the Pony Express Pipeline, a 1,050-mile pipeline connecting the Rockies production area to Cushing, Oklahoma, with direct access to approximately 500 kbpd of refining capacity.
Enbridge will also take over Stanchion Energy, a crude marketing business that drives incremental throughput and optimizes value from other acquired assets.
The deal is expected to close in late 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Upon completion, Enbridge expects the acquired business to generate significant free cash flows and create opportunities for operational synergies across its broader liquids pipeline network.
