Enbridge and KKR Team Up to Boost Westcoast Pipeline Capacity

Enbridge and private equity firm KKR are partnering to boost the capacity of Enbridge's Westcoast pipeline system in Western Canada. The joint venture aims to fund two major expansions, which will help meet growing demand for natural gas.

The expansion project is necessary due to near-record production levels in Western Canada, which have put a strain on market access and regional prices. The Westcoast pipeline currently has a capacity of 3.9 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d), but production is expected to increase further.

Enbridge's joint venture with KKR will target the Pacific Northwest region, where demand for natural gas is high. By increasing capacity, Enbridge hopes to meet this growing demand and provide a stable supply of natural gas to regional customers.
