Enbridge Bolsters US Gulf Coast Presence with Strategic LNG Project
Enbridge is expanding its presence on the US Gulf Coast by acquiring an exclusive option to buy the TTC Connector, a strategic LNG infrastructure project. The TTC Connector is a 25-mile pipeline with a capacity of 300 million cubic feet per day (cf/d) that will connect Enbridge's Tres Palacios gas storage facility to the Coastal Bend Header pipeline, which feeds the Freeport LNG export terminal in Texas.
The Freeport LNG terminal is one of the largest operational LNG export facilities in America and the world, processing 2.23 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d), or 17 million tonnes per annum (mtpa). Enbridge's expansion plans include additional capacity at its four Gulf Coast gas storage facilities, which will bring total capacity to around 150 bcf by 2033.
According to Elizabeth Perez, Director of Intrastate Business Development with Enbridge's Gas Transmission business, the TTC Connector represents a 'last-mile' LNG supply project linking a major Gulf Coast storage asset to an LNG export terminal. She added: 'It's a prime example of the growing integration between storage, transmission and LNG export facilities as the world's demand for American LNG exports continues to grow.'
