Enbridge Gas Price Hike Sparks Backlash from Customers in Ohio

A proposed natural gas price hike has sparked heated debate among Enbridge Gas Ohio customers in Ohio.

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) held a public hearing at the Akron Public Library to discuss the $7.60 per month, or $91 dollar per year, rate increase requested by Enbridge Gas Ohio.

Critics argue that the price hike will unfairly burden middle-class families who are already struggling with rising costs. 'Their profits last quarter were like $1.4 billion,' said Robert Adams. 'When is enough enough when do we step back and say let's take care of the middle class that takes care of the country.'

Enbridge spokesperson Stephanie Moore defended the rate increase, stating that it is necessary to manage financial pressures on multiple fronts, including rising operations and maintenance costs.
