Enbridge Secures C$41 Billion in Pipeline Backlog
Enbridge has increased its secured project backlog to approximately C$41 billion as of the second quarter of 2026. This growth is attributed to the company's expansion of new pipeline infrastructure connecting North American natural gas supplies with growing liquefied natural gas export demand.
The addition of over C$1 billion to the backlog came from the sanctioning of the Line 5 Relocation project in Wisconsin, a project that involves rerouting approximately 41 miles of the existing pipeline. The relocated section is expected to enter service in early 2027.
Enbridge expects to fund its secured growth program through annual investment capacity of between C$10 billion and C$11 billion. This backlog represents nearly four years of investment at the company's normal annual growth-capital rate.
