Encounter Resources Launches Strategic Review of Copper Portfolio
Encounter Resources ENR has initiated a strategic review of its extensive copper portfolio in Western Australia and the Northern Territory to realize greater value and accelerate project advancement. The review coincides with fresh reverse circulation drilling at the Yeneena copper project, where shallow copper oxide mineralisation has been extended across eight kilometers of the Parbo copper system.
The company's wider portfolio includes an existing shallow copper resource at Tyrell, high-grade copper results at the Lamil copper-gold project, and a pipeline of projects across the region. Encounter considers its copper interests to be overshadowed by the 70,000m drill program, high-grade niobium resource growth, and accelerating development work at the Aileron project.
Executive Chair Will Robinson stated that 'against a backdrop of growing demand for new copper supply, a quality copper exploration portfolio in a Tier 1 jurisdiction with the potential for scale, such as that assembled by Encounter, is increasingly scarce.' The company plans to assess alternative corporate structures and new partnerships through the strategic review.
