Energia Marks 25 Years of Indigenous Legacy in Nigeria's Energy Sector
Nigerian oil and gas company Energia is celebrating its 25th anniversary, marking two decades of growth and development in the industry.
Founded in 2001 by Nigerian oil and gas professionals, Energia has evolved from an indigenous exploration and production company to a diversified energy business with capabilities spanning crude oil production, gas processing, crude storage, and export infrastructure.
The company's Chairman, George Osahon, reflected on the milestone, crediting the vision, resilience, and collective commitment of everyone who contributed to Energia's journey as the driving force behind its success.
Energia has made significant investments in field development, production infrastructure, and gas processing over the years. Notable milestones include achieving First Oil from the Ebendo/Obodeti field in 2009, collaborating with Xenergi on a 25 MMSCFD gas processing plant, and successfully drilling two new wells in the northern part of the field since 2021.
The company is also expanding its strategic footprint, having secured interests in the Ugbo and Irigbo marginal fields. It aims to upgrade field capacity to 20,000 barrels of oil per day and develop a 5,000-barrel-per-day crude distillation unit at Onshore Kwale, Delta State.
As Energia looks forward to its next chapter, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Oladimeji Bashorun emphasized the importance of disciplined execution and responsible growth. The company remains committed to building on its established foundation and contributing meaningfully to Nigeria's long-term energy future.
