Energy Sector Stabilizes Amid Ongoing Middle East Tensions
The energy sector saw a modest gain of 0.25% in performance, lagging behind other sectors such as Real Estate and Materials which rose by 2.36% and 1.44%, respectively.
Meanwhile, China's crude imports are expected to rise from their decade-low levels after flows through the Strait of Hormuz accelerated and refiners increased purchases of Russian oil.
The halt in military strikes between the US and Iran has also contributed to a relief rally in stocks and bonds, with oil prices dropping sharply. This comes as Iranian and Omani officials met over the weekend to resolve shipping issues through the Strait of Hormuz.
