Eni Awards Saipem Contract for Baleine Phase 3 Project Offshore Ivory Coast
Eni SPA subsidiary Eni Côte d'Ivoire Ltd. has awarded Saipem a contract for the Baleine Phase 3 project offshore Ivory Coast. The scope of work includes engineering, fabrication, transportation, and installation of about 50 km of rigid pipelines and associated subsea structures.
The project will also involve the deployment of two construction vessels, FDS and Shen Da, with operations scheduled to last approximately three years. Eni expects the full-field Phase 3 development to increase oil production at the field to 150,000 barrels per day from 60,000 barrels per day and gas output to 200 million cubic feet per day from 80 million cubic feet per day.
The Baleine Phase 3 project includes the development of a new floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) unit. Eni has stated that this phase will build on the phased and fast-track development model already implemented in Baleine's first two phases.
