Eni S.p.A., an Italian energy company, continues to show strong price performance in 2026. As of August 28, its shares on the Borsa Italiana closed at EUR22.79, up 41.20% since the start of the year and modestly above their recent five-day level of EUR22.93 on the Tradegate venue.

The company's strong price performance can be attributed to several factors, including its efforts to revive Venezuela's oil sector. Eni is working with authorities in both Venezuela and the United States to help restart and expand oil activities in the South American country. This diplomatic and operational engagement comes as global energy markets continue to seek secure sources of oil and gas supply.

In addition to its efforts in Venezuela, Eni has also expanded its upstream footprint in South America through a new offshore exploration position in Uruguay. The company has become the operator of an offshore exploration block in Uruguay's waters, adding another frontier basin to its global portfolio.
