EOG Resources Smashes Q2 Earnings Expectations with Record Performance
EOG Resources reported record-breaking quarterly results for the second quarter of 2026. Adjusted net income reached $2,683 million, while adjusted earnings per share (EPS) hit a new high at $5.07. The company's cash flow per share also set a record at $8.29.
The strong performance was attributed to consistent high-quality execution across the multi-basin asset base and higher-than-expected oil prices. EOG Resources' CEO, Ezra Yacob, noted that these results reflect 'something more durable,' highlighting the company's ability to deliver robust financials despite market fluctuations.
On a production front, EOG Resources exceeded its second-quarter guidance range, with total production reaching 1,410,400 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed). Crude oil and condensate production grew by 8.8% year-over-year, while natural gas liquids production contributed to the company's overall volumes exceeding expectations.
The company also announced its commitment to returning at least 70% of annual free cash flow to shareholders, with $1.8 billion allocated for regular dividends and opportunistic share repurchases in the second quarter alone.
