EQT Pursues New Appalachian Pipeline to Tap Growing Power Demand

EQT is exploring the development of a new 1 Bcf/d pipeline to connect Appalachian natural gas supply to growing demand in the Midwest, Southeast, and Gulf Coast markets. The proposed pipeline would run from Pennsylvania to Ohio and is expected to be operational by 2030.

The project is in response to market interest, with EQT launching a non-binding open season for the pipeline. This process allows potential shippers to express their interest in using the pipeline and provides EQT with feedback on demand.

The new pipeline would help meet increasing power demand, particularly from data centers and other industrial users. Appalachian natural gas production has been growing rapidly, but much of it is currently being used locally or exported.
