EQT Secures Decade-Long LNG Deal with UAB Ignitis
EQT Corporation, a US-based natural gas supplier, has signed a long-term deal with UAB Ignitis to supply LNG (liquefied natural gas) from 2027 to 2036. The agreement covers 10 annual cargoes of approximately 1 TWh each, priced off both Henry Hub and TTF benchmarks.
This deal adds another layer of contracted volumes for EQT, but it doesn't significantly impact the near-term production or pricing picture. The company's current earnings are around $2.7 billion, with analysts forecasting a rise to $3.6 billion by 2029, implying an increase of roughly $0.9 billion in profit on forecast revenues of $10.3 billion that year.
Some analysts believe the deal signals EQT's deeper integration into cross-border gas pricing and physical flows, while others see it as a testament to the company's ability to sign premium long-term contracts like this Ignitis LNG deal.
