Equinor and Uniper Lock in Long-Term Gas Deal for Germany
Equinor and Uniper have signed a long-term agreement for natural gas supplies to Germany. Under the 15-year deal, Equinor will deliver over 30 TWh of gas per year to Uniper from January 1st, 2027, to December 31st, 2041.
The partnership demonstrates the strong demand for reliable and sustainable energy in Europe. Norway's natural gas has been a cornerstone of Germany's energy security since exports began in 1977, and this new agreement extends that relationship into the 2040s.
According to Equinor's CEO, Anders Opedal, 'This agreement demonstrates the strong demand for reliable, long-term gas supplies from the Norwegian continental shelf, which delivers energy and industrial feedstock with a lower carbon footprint than alternative gas supply.'
