Equinor Locks in New Gas Supply Deals Amid EU Diversification Push
Equinor has signed more long-term natural gas supply agreements with Europe's key energy hubs as it teams up with partners to boost volumes and extend the lifespan of Norway's offshore assets.
The deals, which are part of a broader exploration push in Norway, aim to increase production beyond 2035. This comes as the European Union looks to reduce its reliance on Russian gas imports amid ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine.
Germany has been balancing LNG (liquefied natural gas) imports with pipeline gas supplies. Meanwhile, US LNG exports to Germany have risen, according to recent data.
