Norway's Equinor has signed a 15-year agreement to supply natural gas to German energy company Uniper. The deal, which runs from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2041, will see over 30 terawatt-hours (TWh) of gas annually delivered at the Trading Hub Europe, Germany's gas market area.

The agreement marks Equinor's largest natural gas market in Germany and extends a partnership that began in 1977. According to Equinor, natural gas is expected to remain important to Europe's energy mix, supporting energy security, industrial activity, and system flexibility as renewable power and low-carbon gases expand.

Equinor's president and CEO, Anders Opedal, stated that the agreement demonstrates the strong demand for reliable, long-term gas supplies from the Norwegian continental shelf. He added that Equinor's role as a trusted long-term energy partner to Europe is strengthened by this deal.
