Equinor to Deliver Record Gas Supplies to Germany Under 15-Year Deal
German energy company Uniper has signed a long-term agreement with Norway's Equinor to supply natural gas to Germany. Under the deal, Equinor will deliver more than 30 terawatt-hours of natural gas annually from 2027 to 2041.
The contract is for 15 years and aims to strengthen the German market's long-term gas supplies, diversify Uniper's portfolio, and ensure reliable gas delivery to its customers. According to Michael Lewis, CEO of Uniper, both companies also see potential in cooperating on low-emission gas solutions for customers in Germany.
Equinor's CEO, Anders Opedal, stated that the agreement demonstrates continued strong demand for reliable and long-term supplies from the Norwegian continental shelf. Equinor is one of Europe's leading natural gas suppliers, providing a direct link between Norway's gas resources and the European energy market.
