Estonia Funds €1.94M for Microbial Oil Production Project
A Estonian biotech company ÄIO and research organization TFTAK have received €1.94 million in funding for their three-year project focused on microbial oil production.
The Applied Research Programme of Estonia's Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications provided the funding, which is part of a total budget of approximately €2.53 million.
The DigiFoundry 2.0 project will combine synthetic biology, fermentation, automation, and digital process control to improve the efficiency and scalability of producing oils and fats from food, agricultural, and wood-industry side-streams.
