EU Seeks Ways to Boost Ukraine Grain Exports Amid Global Food Security Concerns
The European Union is exploring ways to support grain exports from Ukraine amid concerns about global food security.
Agriculture Commissioner Christophe Hansen stated that the EU has an 'important role' in ensuring a stable food supply, as it is a major agri-food exporter. Lower production in the EU will eventually lead to shortages elsewhere, according to Hansen.
The commissioner emphasized that the bloc is looking at all possible avenues to support Ukraine's grain exports and mitigate the financial impact of extreme weather on farmers.
