Euronext Wheat Prices Rise Amid Black Sea Disruptions and Weak Demand
Euronext wheat prices rose on Tuesday as traders weighed the impact of Black Sea disruptions against weak demand from importers.
The December wheat contract, the most-active on Euronext, closed up 0.6% at €235.75 ($272.95) per metric ton, while the September contract settled 0.9% lower at €223.25.
Weeks of attacks by Russia and Ukraine on each other's ports have reduced shipments, with unconfirmed reports on Tuesday of strikes against several grain carriers near Russian ports adding to concerns over Black Sea trade disruptions.
The European Union's soft wheat exports so far in the 2026/27 season reached 1.48 million tons, down 49% from the previous year, according to weekly data.
