Euronext Wheat Prices Steady Amid Ongoing Black Sea Disruptions
The price of wheat on Euronext remained steady on Tuesday, despite ongoing disruptions to Black Sea exports. The benchmark December contract settled at EUR235.75 ($272.95) per metric ton, a 0.6% increase.
The September contract, however, fell 0.9% to EUR223.25 after participants moved away from the front month following Monday's options expiration. Unconfirmed reports of strikes on grain carriers near Russian ports continued to cast uncertainty over Black Sea trade.
Traders noted that consumers were 'hoping for a miracle,' with one futures trader stating that they 'seem to be very quiet.' The European Union reported a 49% decline in soft-wheat exports during the 2026/27 season, which began on July 1. France saw particularly low volumes, with only 27,000 tons traded.
