European Markets Bounce Back as Oil Prices Plummet
The European markets experienced a cautious rebound on Tuesday, driven by a decline in oil prices and moderate gains in technology stocks. The DAX futures were up around 0.7%, with Germany leading the gains due to positive macroeconomic data.
Oil prices dropped by 2.5% to around $88 per barrel, easing concerns about inflation reaccelerating and bringing relief to the bond market. The fall in oil prices was attributed to a partial reduction in the geopolitical premium, as new actions by the US administration toward Iran did not result in any material tightening of restrictions or expected secondary sanctions.
In the stock market, industrials and travel and leisure stocks performed well, with Kion Group leading the gains at around 5%. Semiconductor makers also rebounded ahead of Nvidia's earnings release, with ASML and Infineon up by about 2% each.
