European markets rallied on Thursday, boosted by optimism over company earnings and media/telecoms stocks.

The pan-European STOXX 600 index touched an all-time high, with a gain of 0.4% by 11:02 GMT.

London's FTSE 100 was up 0.2%, France's CAC 40 rose 0.7%, and Germany's DAX increased 0.2%.

However, Nasdaq futures were down 0.7% as chipmakers Sandisk and Advanced Micro Devices disappointed investors with their earnings.

A proposed deal between Iran and Oman to help end the U.S.-Iran conflict was seen as a potential breakthrough, but oil prices initially remained steady below $80 a barrel.
