European Natural Gas Prices Soar 19.1% Amid Global Shift
The World Bank has released natural gas price data for Europe and the US. In July this year, the average price of natural gas in Europe stood at $18.06 per million BTU, which is a 19.1% increase from the previous month's figure of $15.17.
This marks a significant rise in prices compared to last year, with the second quarter average reaching $15.58, representing a 31.3% increase from $11.87.
Looking at historical data, the Bank notes that the average price of natural gas in Europe stood at $11.96 in 2025, which is 9.1% higher than the 2024 figure of $10.96.
