European Shares Jump as US-Iran Tensions Ease
European shares surged on Monday due to eased US-Iran tensions and falling oil prices.
The STOXX 600 index climbed 0.8% to 649.34, with Brent crude futures plummeting 6% to about $90 a barrel.
This led to a 2% drop in the energy sector but boosted investors' risk appetite, resulting in gains for travel and leisure stocks.
Lufthansa and IAG shares rose by 3.7% each, while Ryanair observed a 3.4% increase.
