European Stocks Plummet Amid Ongoing Middle East Tensions
European stock markets mostly declined on Tuesday due to ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and rising oil prices. The pan-European STOXX Europe 600 index dropped by 0.69% to 651.9 points.
The FTSE MIB, Italy's major market index, suffered the largest decline among eurozone markets, falling 1.06% to 53,017.84. Germany's DAX and France's CAC 40 indices also declined by 0.8% and 0.82%, respectively.
However, Britain's FTSE 100 index bucked the trend, increasing by 0.07% to 10,728.04. The ongoing tensions in the Middle East have led to concerns over inflation, economic growth, and corporate costs.
