Surging prices due to Iran's closure of the Straits of Hormuz have kept liquefied natural gas (LNG) stocks unusually low, with winter just months away. This raises concerns that supply difficulties and high prices will persist, as colder Continental weather drives up demand for heating and electricity.
Analysts warn that filling storage sites to their typical 75-80% capacity is crucial to avoid shortages during the winter period. However, current levels stand at just 58%, the lowest since 2021, according to Gas Infrastructure Europe and Kpler resources consulting firm.
