Europe's Gas Prices Soar to Multi-Year Highs Amid Winter Fears
Natural gas prices in Europe have surged to fresh multi-year highs, outpacing their Asian counterparts while the US market lags behind.
The price surge is largely due to the near certainty that the continent will face a cold winter, coupled with reduced LNG exports through the Strait of Hormuz. As a result, European gas prices have risen above previous records.
In related news, Goldman Sachs has raised its fourth-quarter European gas price forecast by nearly a third as LNG exports recover through the Strait of Hormuz.
