Exxon Mobil's Fifth Floating Oil Giant Arrives in Guyana
Exxon Mobil's operations in Guyana have expanded significantly with the arrival of its fifth floating oil production facility, the Errea Wittu. The facility is a crucial component in managing output from the Uaru project and has been constructed by Japanese firm MODEC in Singapore.
The Errea Wittu is an FPSO (floating production storage and offloading) unit capable of handling up to 250,000 barrels per day (bpd), contributing significantly to activities within the Stabroek offshore block.
Underpinning the operation is a decade-long service contract with MODEC, which will oversee operations and maintenance from the onset of oil production. This collaboration marks a significant moment in Guyana's burgeoning oil narrative.
