ExxonMobil Awards $1.1 Billion in Contracts for Mozambique LNG Project
ExxonMobil and its partners have awarded $1.1 billion in contracts for the pre-FID Rovuma LNG project in Mozambique's Cabo Delgado region.
The largest contract, worth an undisclosed amount, was granted to OneSubsea UK Ltd and OneSubsea AS for engineering, procurement, fabrication, and manufacturing services related to subsea production systems, controls, and umbilicals. Aker Solutions Mozambique Ltda will support the in-country work.
The contracts include a $1 billion deal with Advanced Technology Valve SpA for large-bore production valves and separate agreements with Corinth Pipeworks Pipe Industry Single Member SA and Sumitomo Corporation of America to manufacture submerged arc welded line pipes and seamless line pipes, respectively. Zhejiang Jiuli Hi-Tech Metals Co Ltd will produce mechanically lined pipes, induction bends, weld overlay products, and associated pipe systems.
Rovuma LNG is planned to have 12 modular liquefaction modules and is expected to develop offshore gas resources in Area 4. The onshore facility will have a capacity of 18.6 million metric tons per year.
