ExxonMobil has awarded around $1.1 billion in pre-investment contracts for critical equipment needed for the first phase of its Rovuma Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project in Mozambique's Cabo Delgado province.

The project aims to develop significant offshore natural gas reserves in Area 4 and construct an onshore LNG facility with a planned production capacity of 18.6 million tonnes per year.

OneSubsea UK Limited and OneSubsea AS secured the largest contract, worth millions, for subsea production systems, control systems, and umbilicals.

Aker Solutions Mozambique will support engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and production work in-country.
