ExxonMobil Awards $1.1 Billion in Rovuma LNG Project Contracts
ExxonMobil has awarded approximately $1.1 billion in contracts for equipment needed to advance the Rovuma LNG Phase 1 project in Mozambique's Cabo Delgado region.
The US oil major made the awards on behalf of the Area 4 partners, which include Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH), China National Petroleum Corp, Eni, Korea Gas Corporation, and Abu Dhabi National Oil Co's XRG.
The contracts cover subsea production systems, large-bore production valves, and offshore line pipe, with OneSubsea UK and OneSubsea AS receiving the largest contract for engineering, procurement, fabrication, and manufacturing of subsea production systems, controls, and umbilicals. Aker Solutions Mozambique will support in-country work.
ExxonMobil had previously lifted force majeure on the Rovuma LNG project in November 2021 after pausing operations due to security concerns in Mozambique.
